Afghan Air Force firefighters, alongside advisors from NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan advisors, prepare for a live-fire training exercise from Nov. 23 to 25, 2013 at Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan. The training events laid the groundwork for establishing an AAF fire-fighting capability independent of coalition forces at JAF. During the last five month, Master Sgt. John Smith, NATC-A firefighter advisor, instructed on tactics, techniques, procedures for containing structural fires, rescue operations and proper use of gear and safety equipment which culminated with the live-fire exercises. This training marks the first live-fire exposure for the JAF firefighters. (U.S. Air Force photo)
