Senior Airman Brelin Hoffman, 439th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron Security Forces defender, steps onto an Afghan Air Force C-130 for a flight October 10, 2013 at Kabul International Airport, Afghanistan. The flight was not only Hoffman’s first C-130 flight, but also the first operational mission for the new AAF C-130 aircraft. As part of her job as a defender, Hoffman provides overwatch aboard military aircraft for the NATO Air Training Command-Afghanistan mission, charged with training the Afghan Air Force. Hoffman hails from Wyndmoor, Penn., and is a reservist deployed from the 927th Security Forces Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.
