Ibraev Almarsbek, a Yurt builder from the Issyk-Kul Lake region in Kyrgyzstan, secures a section of the new sheep wool cover to the crown of the structure Sept. 7, 2013. The Yurt located on the Transit Center at Manas represents the “spirit of Kyrgyzstan” on the military installation. The new cover has a polyester liner that will help it weather the country’s climate. Yurts are traditionally embellished with bright wool felt designs and symbols such as the walking pattern representing unending strength and constant movement. An example of a design is seen behind the bell. (U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Donna T. Jeffries)
