Al Udeid honors Washington’s Birthday with Retreat Ceremony

Washington’s Birthday, also known as President’s Day, has been a federally recognized holiday since 1879. Contrary to popular belief, the act neither combined the birthday celebrations for Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln nor actually changed the holiday’s official name to Presidents Day.
