Command and control of AFCENT from Shaw, not CAOC

The Combined Air & Space Operations Center's Combat Operations Division floor sits empty as the command and control of air power is temporarily transferred from CAOC, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, to Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. during a historic operational transition exercise, Sept 28, 2019. The command and control of air operations, which normally is handled at the CAOC, were temporarily transferred to Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. for 24 hours to demonstrate the flexibility and resiliency of the U.S. and Coalition air power.
