A pilot from the 378th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron prepares for a flight Feb. 11, 2021, at Prince Sultan Air Base, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. AFE Airmen are responsible for inspecting, maintaining, packing and adjusting equipment such as flight helmets, oxygen masks, parachutes, flotation devices, aircrew night vision and other ocular systems, survival kits and anti-G garments. In addition, AFE operates aircrew armories and inspects aircrew side arms in deployed environments. AFE ensures mission success by providing the equipment needed for 77th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron pilots to perform their daily combat operations.
