Lt. Gen. Grynkewich completes final flight as AFCENT commander

Airman 1st Class Chelsea Kindle, 79th Fighter Generation Squadron assistant dedicated crew chief, guides Lt. Gen. Alex Grynkewich, Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central) commander, to his parking spot as he completes his final flight as AFCENT commander, April 9, 2024, at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. The fini-flight is an Air Force tradition marking pilots’ departure from a unit, or the last time they fly an aircraft. As a combat-rated pilot within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Grynkewich maintains currency and capacity to fly combat operations alongside his deployed forces.
