The legacy continues – Staff Sgt. Michael Simmons

The 332d Air Expeditionary Wing's Warrior of the Week for the week of April 1, 2022, is Staff Sgt. Michael Simmons, 332d AEW Chapel plans and programs noncommissioned officer in charge. Simmons has contributed to the wing’s spiritual, social, and mental fitness by organizing pilgrimage trips and other events as well as overseeing all Chapel spiritual resilience training. “Being here with the 332d, everyone has been supportive of what I've been trying to do,” said Simmons. “I love being a part of the wing and being able to give back to the local community by coordinating all the chapel trips. It gives our people a chance to actually go out to the local community see the historical religious sites and helps them helps them better understand the country’s culture.” 332d Chaplain, Lt. Col. Amber Murrell, describes Simmons as an essential part of the religious affairs team, whose attention to detail ensured Red Tail Airmen had seamless weekly religious services and spiritual study groups. Warrior of the Week is a competitive recognition program that highlights significant contributions made by individual Airmen who raise the Red Tail standard and enhance the mission and capabilities of the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing.
