407th ECS welcomes new commander

SOUTHWEST ASIACommand of the 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron passed from Lt. Col. Dean Benson to Maj. Charlie Grover during a change of command ceremony in Southwest Asia on July 11, 2017.

Grover deployed here from the Pentagon where he serves as a Political-Military Planner within the Cyber Policy Division, Global Policy and Partnerships Deputy Directorate, Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate (J-5), Joint Staff.

 

Col. John Gonzales, 407th Air Expeditionary Group commander was the presiding officer and welcomed Maj. Grover to the Red Tails family.

 

 “This afternoon we celebrate and highlight the many accomplishments of the 407th Expeditionary Communications Squadron under Benson,” said Gonzales. “I’m confident that Maj. Grover will take all his experiences and raise the communications squadron to new heights.”

“The 332d Air Expeditionary Wing has a long history of putting in hard work and dedication to achieve success and I hope to carry that on,” said Grover. “I am truly humbled and honored as I can think of no greater privilege than being entrusted to command.”
