The 332d Air Expeditionary Wings Warrior of the Week of September 18 is Tech. Sgt. Jimmie Buckner, 332d Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician. Buckner manages environmental health surveillance to include: water quality, environmental exposure sampling, and health risk communication.

Bioenvironmental Engineering Technicians use risk management principles to reduce environmental health risks and exposures generated by Air Force operations.

Recently Buckner acquired last-minute advance water testing kits to examine water wells in support of a $250k filtration system purchase. Additionally, he pushed for the purchase of $3,000 worth of critical spare parts in order to prevent failure of pumps supplying critical water to the base.

He says that he loves his job as it allows him to “meet personnel from all AFSCs while ensuring their overall health and safety.”

Buckner enjoys restoring old cars, finding innovative ways to repair broken and damaged inventory, and making coffee for others. After his tour he hopes to make Master Sgt., become a 1st sergeant, and be the best husband possible.

Buckner says the best part of his job is the people, “getting to know them and having them know I care about them.”

Warrior of the Week is a competitive recognition program that highlights significant contributions made by individual Airmen who raise the Red Tail standard and enhance the mission and capabilities of the 332d Air Expeditionary Wing.
