    U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Russell Tontz, the oldest of 10 siblings, finds his way to the wing through a circuitous route. After graduating from the University of Idaho he joined the Air Force as a family doctor, essentially a military primary care provider with plans to serve for four years and then transition to private practice in rural Idaho.

    The longest serving Airman in the history of the U.S. Air Force presented what he learned over 46 years, 5 months and 21 days of active-duty service to deployed service members of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing. Airmen gathered around a large projection screen where Maj. Gen. Alfred E. Flowers joined then virtually to describe his career from Vietnam to the Pentagon, from airman basic to major general.
  • New AF Connect App provides communication tool in deployed location

    One way the 332nd AEW is working to facilitate agile communication is through the use of a new Air Force Application called AF Connect. Through it Airmen receive up to the minute updates and in conjunction with robust WiFi it is helping information flow to all levels—even at deployed locations in the Middle East.

The answer is Airman 1st Class Nirav Nikunj Patel, 801st Expeditionary Maintenance Squadron guidance and control avionics specialist deployed with the 1st Expeditionary Rescue Group at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, and a geographically separated unit of the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing in Southwest Asia.
