CMSgt David P. Martie is the Command Chief, 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. In this capacity, he is the commander’s principal Senior Enlisted Leader and key advisor on all matters regarding health, morale, welfare, training, quality of life, professional development, and effective resource allocation. He supports the readiness and effective utilization of more than 5,400 Air Force, joint, and coalition personnel, as well as 55 mission partners. As the largest composite wing within the Middle Eastern theater of operations, the 379 AEW encompasses airlift; air refueling; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and aeromedical evacuation assets supporting Operations INHERENT RESOLVE and SPARTAN SHIELD.
CMSgt Martie entered the Air Force in August 2003 and graduated from Instrument and Flight Control Systems Apprentice training in May 2004. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles at the squadron, group, and wing levels. His assignments have included overseas tours in Japan and Spain, as well as deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Prior to assuming his current role, Chief Martie served as the Command Chief, 505th Command and Control Wing, Hurlburt Field, Florida.
