Nearly 200 eighth grade students and teachers from the American School of Doha learn about some of the capabilities AUAB provides to the surrounding region, during a recent visit.

Brig. Gen. Jason Armagost and Chief Master Sgt. Jerry Williams, commander and command chief of the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, respectively, welcomed the students before they began their tour.

Various base squadrons transformed the gym parking lot into a festival of static displays. Each one served as a brief glimpse inside the life of a service member and showcased the unique mission at AUAB.

On the other side of the base, crew and maintainers of a KC-135 Stratotanker opened the aircraft for tours and offered their expertise and knowledge to the children.

The majority of service members and civilians who are serving extended tours at AUAB, send their children to American School of Doha.

Events like this help not only showcase the continued relationship growth between coalition forces and the host nation of Qatar, but also enable families and Airmen to engage in positive cultural exchanges.
