Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar --

Mine Resistant Ambush Protected armored vehicles are designed to withstand various hazards including improvised explosive devices as well as small-arms fire. Al Udeid Air Base is the central location in the U.S. Air Forces Central Command’s area of responsibility where MRAP vehicles are serviced and maintained. Many service members ensure this aspect of the mission is completed through quality assurance evaluations. Two members that display commitment and motivation to accomplishing this mission for the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing are Master Sgt. Steven Turnbach, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle contractor officer representative, and Tech. Sgt. Michael Clark, fuel systems equipment contracting officer representative.

Favorite part of the job: “Being a part of the link between war readiness assets and the operational forces in central commands area of responsibility.”

Future goals: “One day I would like to own and open a mechanic shop.”

Home base: Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina

Favorite part of the job: “I really enjoy travelling to inspect the fuel equipment, we get to go all over the U.S. Air Force Central Command’s area of responsibility.”

Future goals: “I look forward to being a project manager for a multi-level design. I like being able to find the most efficient way to get the job done.”
