AL UDEID AIR BASE, Qatar -- The 379th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Airmen reopened the coalition compound gates after undergoing renovations.
The updates provide several improvements including; a large sunshade, paved travel lanes, improved active vehicle barriers and an extra inbound lane.
“The changes help create a safer environment and ensure people know this is an entry control point,” said Tech. Sgt. Zachary Coltey, 379th ESFS battle captain. “The work that has been done gives people a better place to work.”
These improvements ease the flow of traffic and reduce wait times at the gate. Additionally, the sunshade provides ESFS Airmen needed relief from the sun in desert conditions.
“We are trying to make it better. It’s all about leaving it better than the way we found it,” said Senior Master Sgt. James Nephew, 379th ESFS operations superintendent.
