An 8th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron crew flies a C-17 Globemaster, across the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, Feb. 4, 2023. The C-17 Globemaster III is a high-wing, four-engine, T-tailed military transport vehicle capable of carrying payloads up to 169,000 pounds. It has an international range and the ability to land on small airfields. It also has a fully integrated electronic cockpit and advanced cargo system that allows a crew of three to operate all systems on any type of mission. The 8th EAS, deployed with Ninth Air Force (Air Forces Central), is responsible for delivering cargo and passengers to U.S. and partner nation forces' bases, providing airpower to CENTCOM.  (U.S. Air Force photos by Tech.
