A building on base was damaged by fire Tuesday.

The fire broke out in a restroom facility located within a compound belonging to a Coalition partner and was first reported at approximately 8:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Fire fighters from the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron responded to the blaze.

"The responders had to cut their way through razor wire to access the building," Acting Fire Chief Master Sgt. Bradley Sykes said. "They extinguished the primary fire, and then conducted salvage and overhaul operations, pulling down ceiling tiles to access the insulation and extinguish any remaining embers."

The cause of the fire and cost of damages are under investigation.
