The 379th Air Expeditionary Wing's web site transitioned to a new look, Wednesday, which will serve to increase the functionality and appeal of the product. Along with the redesign of the web site, several new functions have been added. For frequent visitors to the site, some of these changes will be obvious at first glance.

The most visible change of the redesign is the reduction of white space; there are also fewer links and tabs. The new design features three main navigation links to make information easier to find. These links include: News, Commentaries and Air Force Headlines, which are located down the left side of the homepage.

"The navigational links give the user a quick glance at the current top stories and commentaries," said Senior Master Sgt. Ellen Schirmer, 379 AEW Public Affairs superintendent.

The redesigned site features a larger layout, larger photos, new technology and less clutter. It offers users new content types with the inclusion of slideshows, new video capability and improved search capability.

The site also includes a new feature that allows users to comment on the content posted to the site.

"The comment section is a great opportunity to receive direct feedback from our customers, the base population and the general public. It also provides them a forum where they can discuss our news and features," said Capt. Martha Petersante-Gioia, 379 AEW Public Affairs chief.

The new web site design keeps the 379 AEW Public Affairs staff in line with its goal of providing top quality news and information to the public and base population.
