Millions of Gallons of Gas for One Mission
Staff Sgt. David Thomas, 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron (ELRS) fuels distribution supervisor, and Airman 1st Class Brandon Sullivan (near), a 379th ELRS fuels distribution operator, move a refueling pantograph into position to refuel a KC-135R Stratotanker, June 10, 2009, at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Airman Sullivan pumped 16,083 gallons of JP-8 fuel at 457 gallons per minute through the system to refuel the aircraft. Fuel distribution operators deliver fuel to aircraft around the clock everyday of the year to meet the ongoing demands of the mission. Sergeant Thomas hails from Mountain Ranch, Calif. and is deployed from Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. Airman Sullivan hails from Burlington, Iowa and is deployed from Kadena Air Base, Japan.
