Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Staff Sgt. Vince Billyk and Senior Airman Reilly White, crew chiefs assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, tighten fasteners while replacing a gearbox panel on a B-1 Lancer, Nov. 24, at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. Carrying the largest payload of both guided and unguided weapons in the Air Force inventory, the multi-mission B-1 is the backbone of America's long-range bomber force. It can rapidly deliver massive quantities of precision and non-precision weapons against any adversary, anywhere in the Central Command area of responsibility. Sergeant Billyk, a native of Philadelphia, Pa., and Airman White, from Laporte, Pa., are both deployed from Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
