Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa
Tech. Sgt. Amber Meyer, with help from Tech. Sgt. Cliff Hanson, attaches a tow bar from a C-130 Hercules to a tow vehicle October 6, 2008. Both Sergeant Meyer and Sergeant Hanson are assigned to the 379th Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 746th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at an undisclosed air base in Southwest Asia. C-130s must be pushed back into parking spaces to make most efficient use of ramp space here. The C-130 Hercules primarily performs the tactical portion of the airlift mission. The aircraft is capable of operating from rough, dirt strips and is the prime transport for air dropping troops and equipment into hostile areas in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom and Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa. Sergeant Meyer is a native of Hudson, Wis., and Sgt Hanson hails from Apple Valley, Minn. Both are deployed from the Minneapolis-St. Paul Air Reserve Station, Minn. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
