AF/A1 visits 379th AEW, hosts Airmen’s call Published June 29, 2007 By Senior Airman Clark Staehle 379th Air Expeditionary Wing SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Lt. Gen. Roger A. Brady, Deputy Chief of Staff, Manpower and Personnel, Headquarters U.S. Air Force in Washington, visited members of the Desert Eagle Team June 16. While here, the general interacted with Airmen and hosted an Airmen's call at the base theater, where he briefed Airmen about his position and his role in issues directly affecting them. Topics included air and space expeditionary force rotations, manning and manpower. "We learned about what he did and his interaction with Chief Master Sgt. of the Air Force Rodney McKinley, and Gen. T. Michael Moseley," said Senior Airman Brock Cochran, 379th Expeditionary Communications Squadron and Springfield, Ohio, native. "We also heard a lot about manpower and personnel issues, the PT uniform, the new Airman battle uniform, the new service dress uniform, the PT gear and force shaping." The general followed his briefing with a question-and-answer session. This gave Airmen in attendance a chance to ask any candid questions they had about his briefing, like "If I'm selected for force shaping, will a contractor fill my position?" or "My career field deploys in six-month rotations. Do you know when we might go back to four-month rotations?" "A lot of people have questions about contracting jobs, cutting Airmen, their deployment cycles and the current operations tempo," said Staff Sgt. Jessica Bluethmann, 379th ECS and Glennville, Ga., native. "I think the information we learned was important." "It was really informative," Airman Cochran said. "I walked out a lot more knowledgeable than I went in."
