For the first time the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing chapel is now offers worship services through Defense Communications Online, a worldwide communication system.

The first broadcast was held June 6 at the base chapel by U.S Air Force Maj. James Buckman, 379th AEW deputy chaplain.

"As chaplains we have a responsibility to perform and provide for every spiritual need on base, and this new resource is huge tool in accomplishing that," said Buckman.

"We want to leverage technology to offer Bible studies and spiritual resources to anyone from anywhere starting on this base," said Buckman.

This new system will allow Service members to watch the live broadcast or from the archive database, along with views being able to ask chaplains questions over chat during the service.

"The technology is amazing and where we have come in the last five years is astonishing. From using calling cards for morale calls to now we can communicate with our mobile devices over Wi-Fi," said Buckman.

"What I feel this new program can bring is for the chapel to be able to expand its capacity to deliver care for our service members, which covers our mission to perform and provide spiritual services," said Buckman. "We can now with our worldwide connectivity provide that service to all different types of religious faiths 24/7."
