SOCCENT FWD hosts Marine Corps Marathon

SOUTHWEST ASIA --  Twenty-two U.S. military members participated in the Special Operations Command Central Forward Marine Corps Marathon at the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing, Oct. 27.

U.S. military volunteers provided road guards to ensure the safety of marathon participants and emergency personnel were on stand bye in case of injuries. Volunteers also provided fresh fruits and bottled water at food stations to recharge the runners.

The 26.2-mile run mirrored the 38th Marine Corps Marathon held each year in Washington D.C. The first runner to complete the race finished in 3 hours and 26 minutes.
