Deployed coalition forces recognize Bastille Day

U.S. and coalition forces attended a ceremony recognizing Bastille Day at the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing here July 14.

Bastille Day is a French holiday celebrating the anniversary of the fall of Bastille in Paris in 1789, which marked the beginning of the French Revolution. July 14 became a national French holiday in 1880 and has since been celebrated with parades, fireworks, French cuisine and public festivities.

The ceremony was led by Combined Air and Space Operations Center French Air Force Detachment officers who shared their sentiments and a moment of silence with the attendees.
