Col. Pascal Sotty, senior ranking French officer, read the order of the day #5961 originally read by Marshal Foch, commander in chief of the Allied armies in France Nov. 12, 1918.

“Officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the Allied armies, after resolutely stopped the enemy, you have over many months, with a tireless faith and energy, attacked him relentlessly. You have won the greatest battle in History, saved the most sacred cause: the freedom of the world. Be proud, with an immortal glory you have trimmed your flags, posterity will guard you in its memory.”

So, this Armistice Day, do not forget to thank all those who served and sacrificed during the Great War.
