Indy DFAC undergoes maintenance
Dirt Boys from the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, place concrete at the Independence Dining Facility on Aug. 22, 2019 at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. The concrete is being placed to address flooring concerns at the DFAC. The facility was closed on July 25, 2019 to address maintenance issues concerning pests. Indy DFAC undergoes maintenance
Staff Sgt. David Chilson, 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, heavy equipment operator, takes a break before placing concrete at the Independence Dining Facility at Al Udeid Air Base Qatar on Aug. 22, 2019. Since the DFAC closure, ECES has made numerous structural, electrical and plumbing repairs to help get the Indy back up and running. A new salad bar awaits placement at the Independence Dining Facility on Aug. 8, 2019 at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar. Indy DFAC undergoes maintenance
The Independence Dining Facility on Al Udeid Air Base Qatar remains closed after being shut down on July 25, 2019 to address maintenance concerns. The DFAC, located on the Coalition Compound, is the busiest food service facility on the installation, serving on average 5,500 meals per day. The installation itself, hosts the largest food operation in CENTCOM and the second largest food service operation in the Air Force, second only to basic military training.
