Adrian Cazares Chavez, 379th Expeditionary Medical Operations Squadron, Force Health non-commissioned officer in charge, inspects the salad bar at the Independence Dining Facility at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, on Sept. 27, 2019. The new salad bar was installed in the DFAC while undergoing $105,000 in maintenance and renovation. The facility closed on July 25, 2019 for more than two months to address maintenance issues involving pests. During the closure, Public Health played a vital role in ensuring all issues in the facility that led to the closure and were addressed by the 379th Force Support Squadron and the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron and the facility was brought back up to standards and ready for normal operations.
