AL DHAFRA AIR BASE --
The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing announced a new commander Monday during a change of command ceremony, July 2.
Incoming commander of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, Brig. Gen. Adrian L. Spain assumes command from Brig. Gen. Derek C. France.
Spain’s recent duty assignments include the Executive Assistant to the Commander of North American Aerospace Defense Command, Commander of the 53rd Wing, Commander of the 94th Fighter Squadron, and Commandant of the United States Air Force Weapons School, where Spain was responsible for the tactical training and development of U.S. Air Force Personnel spanning across 18 squadrons and six major commands.
During the change of command ceremony, Spain took a moment to express his vision and goals for the wing.
“We are here to deliver airpower, defend the region, and develop relationships. And why that is so critical is that through our actions we not only protect our homeland, we protect our friends and we defend the innocent. We work together arm-in-arm with our partners to set the conditions for all our children to prosper in the decades to come,” said Spain.
Spain replaces France after a year tour of duty at Al Dhafra Air Base. During the change of command ceremony, France spoke about his confidence that the 380th AEW is in good hands.
“Spain is exactly the right type of leader to take this wing to the next level. I know you will, you have a rock star team out here of dedicated, professional, mission-focused Airmen, ready to get the job done every day.,” said France.
The 380th AEW also welcomed new Command Chief, Chief Master Sgt. Jarrod Sebastian who replaces outgoing Command Chief Master Sgt. Jeremy Ravlin.
The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing’s mission, is to support coalition of joint and interagency partners, deliver decisive air, space, and cyberspace capabilities in support of U.S. Central Command, ally nations, and the United States of America.
