New commander takes charge of the wing

AL DHAFRA AIR BASE, United Arab Emirates --

Brig. Gen. Larry R. Broadwell took command of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing during a ceremony at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates, June 12, 2020.

Lt. Gen. Joseph T. Guastella, Jr., U.S. Air Forces Central Command commander presided over the ceremony virtually due to COVID-19 physical distancing guidelines.

The 380 AEW is a forward-deployed group of professional Airmen charged with executing the AFCENT commander’s mission, which is to deliver decisive airpower across all five Air Force core missions, stand ready to defend the region against any adversary, and develop enduring relationships with host nation/coalition partners.

He replaces Brig. Gen. Lansing R. Pilch who took command of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing on July 1, 2019.
