AL DHAFRA AIR BASE, United Arab Emirates -- Network communications on Al Dhafra Air Base are more robust thanks to the recent efforts of three members of the 380th Expeditionary Communications Squadron.
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Nolan Betita, Airman 1st Class Christian Arrington and Space Force Specialist 3 Alex Coutinho recently completed a series of equipment upgrades on the base’s email system and wi-fi network, said their supervisor Staff Sgt. Jason Michaels.
“They upgraded three Information Transfer Nodes by configuring new equipment and transferring all fiber optic paths to the new switch, Michaels said. The work ensures that base customers are able to continue communicating on the NIPRnet, SIPRnet, and CAFnet networks.
“This team’s incredible behind-the-scenes effort is a key part of what keeps our critical networks running and secure,” said Senior Master Sgt. Richard Kaufman from the Communications Squadron.
