Staff Sgt. Jeremy Beebe, 380th Expeditionary Logistic Readiness Squadron, is a vehicle maintenance craftsman supporting the Air Force mission in Southwest Asia to fly, fight and win ... in air, space and cyberspace. This Marietta, Ohio, resident is responsible for maintaining the entire vehicle fleet assigned to the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing, vehicles that range from passenger to construction equipment to those vehicles used on the flight line.

As an Air Force vehicle maintainer, he has dealt with many wheeled-vehicle types and trained for different procedures for upkeep on body and chassis work in addition to various repair issues. A wide array of vehicles support the diverse mission here from base security's Humvees to the refueling trucks on the flight line and civil engineers construction equipment. Sergeant Beebe feels leadership entrusts him to take care of their military vehicles because they rely on his skills to keep the vehicles in perfect working condition.

"I touch about every piece of equipment and vehicle that supports the mission here," said the sergeant. "Without vehicle maintenance nothing gets done!"

Deployments are a key part of the Air Force's core value, Service before Self. However, every Airman has a different reason to serve their country.

"First and foremost I love my country. Secondly, I love my family and I will do whatever it takes to make the world a safer place for them to live. I serve to protect the freedoms others before me have fought and died for. It definitely comes with many sacrifices, but without sacrifice where would this country be," said the Airman.

Sergeant Beebe truly enjoys his job and being deployed. His deployments have varied from running a gun truck team with the 1st Infantry Division throughout Iraq, to working on loaders on the flight line to ensure the mission is successful.

"I am proud to be an American and live in the greatest country on Earth. I see a very big part of the world, most of them being third-world countries, and what I've seen makes me appreciate what I have. It's never easy to leave the ones you love behind, but it's bearable knowing what you are doing has a vast impact on the world as a whole," said Sergeant Beebe.

Staff Sgt. Beebe is an active duty Airman out of Marietta, Ohio. He is currently deployed from the 673rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.

The 380th ELRS is a subordinate unit of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing. The wing is home to the KC-10 Extender, U-2 Dragon Lady, E-3 Sentry, F-15 Eagle, and RQ-4A/B Global Hawk aircraft. The 380th AEW mission supports Operations Enduring Freedom, New Dawn, and the Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa.
