Nonprofit organizations are a crucial part of society, providing help to the needy, educational support, funds for good causes, social services and other activities.

The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing's Airmen's Council is no different.

The purpose of this organization is to provide a voice for the Airmen and to organize activities with the intent of boosting morale, said Senior Airman Jeffery Self, Airmen's Council president and member of 380th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron.

The Airmen's Council has supported many events in the past and looks foward to supporting events that clean-up the area, provide services and other events all with the intent of making this a better place for today's and tomorrow's Airmen.

"We the Airman are the largest faction so we have the biggest voice," said Airman Self, who is deployed from MacDill AFB, Fla., and hails Fayetteville, N.C. "The Airman's Council is just one way for us to come together and speak as one voice."

"I believe people should get involved because, it's a great place to network, improve your leadership skills, and be a part of something great," said Airmen Self.

The Airmen's Council meets every Friday. For more information view the daily bulletin.
