According to Military.com, 74 percent of recruits join the military for the education benefits, but deployments and other hardships make it difficult for military members to reach their educational goals.

The 380th Air Expeditionary Wing Education Office is making it possible for members to reach their educational goals even in a deployed location.

"We are deployed so often that if you only continued your education at home station, you would lose a lot of opportunities," said Master Sgt. Evelyn Tichacek 380th AEW education counselor and test control officer. "The 380th AEW education office is here to help you make the most of those opportunities."

The education office offers a wide variety of tests from military requirement testing to more than 50 different college level examination program tests, as well as proctoring services and education counseling.

"I counsel individuals on Community College of the Air Force requirements, brief tuition assistance policies as well as assist personnel in completing forms to take online courses," said Sergeant Tichacek, an Idaho native, who is deployed from Fairchild AFB, Wash. "I also have scheduled testing appointments Monday through Saturday at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and also try to work with shift workers to ensure they the best results for each individual."

"The Air Force goes through great lengths to ensure education does not stop in a deployed location, the rest of it is up to you," Sergeant Tichacek added.
