The 380th Expeditionary Mission Support Group formally said good-bye to its commander in a ceremony here, June 30.

Col. Darren Daniels relinquished command of the unit to Col. Eric Pierce, who arrives from the Enterprise Services Division, Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems Directorate, the Pentagon. Colonel Daniels will move to Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., where he will command a Red Horse civil engineering unit.

Colonel Pierce graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Business degree in Information Systems and immediately attended officer training school. He has served in a variety of assignments as a programmer analyst, systems operations engineer and communications squadron commander.

Colonel Pierce will command the 380th EMSG for one year and expressed his gratitude for the hard work the group Airmen have put in to making the base what it is and shared his optimism for the future.

"Squadron commanders and members of the 380th EMSG," he said. "I am absolutely completely amazed. I came out here and this is the cleanest, best running base. Everything was just happening and I'm honored to be here and look forward to the next year and making more history with you guys, it is truly an honor."
