Job: Emergency Actions Controller

Home unit/base: 97 Air Mobility Wing, Altus Air Force Base, Okla. 

Hometown: Lima, Ohio

What is your job? I track all of the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing missions in addition to all transient aircraft. I notify first responders, wing leadership, and base agencies covering incidents such as aircraft in-flight emergencies, base accidents, increased threat conditions, and distinguish visitor arrivals. I am also responsible for Initiating the Installation Command Center, Emergency Operations Center, and Wing Recalls in response to contingency, exercise, or base incidents as directed by the 380 AEW/CC.

What is your impact to the mission? I coordinate with aircrew and ground personnel for mission launch and recovery contributing to high mission effectiveness rate. I provide quick notification of first responders for the safety of aircrew, base personnel, and AF assets resulting from accidents and emergencies.

What do you enjoy most about the deployment? I enjoy the learning experience as well as the working with great leadership.

What are your goals while deployed? My goals are to finish my CCAF and improve my fitness level.
