Secretary of State visits 380th Air Expeditionary Wing

SOUTHWEST ASIA --  Airmen from the 380th Air Expeditionary Wing greeted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice here before she departed from here enroute to Singapore.

Various Airmen were selected from throughout the base to meet Secretary Rice during her visit.

"Meeting Secretary Rice was a highlight of my deployment," said Maj. Joan Hoyte, 380th Air Expeditionary Wing Executive Officer. "I admire her intelligence, diplomacy, poise; so it was an honor to shake her hand."

"It was really an honor. Secretary Rice is such an inspirational person and she was very personable. She thanked us for our service in the Air Force and I gave her one of our ELRS coins," Lt. Col. Tanya Kubinec, 380th ELRS Commander, said.

Secretary Rice traveled to the Middle East recently to discuss foreign policy and other issues with her counterparts from throughout the region.
