It only takes a little bit of time to make a big impact. The members of the 95th Fighter Squadron

and Aircraft Maintenance Unit have definitely made a big impact over the past year as they

recently celebrated their one-year anniversary.

The reactivated 95th FS and AMU out of Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, have lived up to their mission and brought the fifth generation fighter to the fight as part of the Expeditionary Operations Group and Expeditionary Aircraft Maintenance Squadron.

Deployed as a total force integration unit, the members of the EAMXS work around the clock to ensure their aircraft can provide lethal and decisive airpower wherever and whenever it’s needed.

“It takes personnel from a wide variety of career fields to maintain the F-22,” said Senior Master Sgt. Jeffrey, EAMXS/Raptor AMU superintendent. “Everyone takes pride in knowing they are the best at what they do. I am amazed every day by the abilities of the
technicians on this team.”

Jeffrey added this is Tyndall Air Force Base’s first large-scale deployment and the first for the 95th FS in many years.

“We have spent the last year standing the unit up from the ground and it has been non-stop to get us to where we are now, in the fight,” said Jeffrey. “Over the course of the last year we have bonded as a family and everyone has brought something special to the fight.”

The 95th FS is contributed to having many firsts over the past year as well.

“The 95th FS/AMU is the first combat-coded unit on Tyndall,” said Jeffrey. “We have come so far in such a short amount of time.”

Since the reactivation ceremony on October 11, 2013, the 95th FS/AMU have participated in six major exercises ranging over a seven-month period.

Just last month the 95th FS/AMU deployed to an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia. Here they took to the skies and flew their first combat sortie in the area of responsibility.

“You guys take care of business, we’re doing what’s asked of us, not just by our home base Team Tyndall, but also our country,” said Lt. Col. Ronald Gilbert, 95th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron commander, during the recent ceremony. “You guys should be proud of yourselves,
proud of what we’re doing. We’ve overcome a lot of adversity and a lot of challenges and are doing well.”
