380th AEW honors Defenders and Special Agents during Police Week

An Airman with the 380th Air Expeditionary wing carries the American flag during a memorial ruck and run event during Police Week, May 20th, 2022 at Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates. In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the week in which it falls as National Police Week. Since the first service memorial gathering in Senate Park, Washington D.C., U.S. agencies across the nation and abroad have held events to honor fallen officers and acknowledge their sacrifices.
