  • Do not take or apply any type of medication to any injuries
  • Do not use the bathroom, but if you must, bring urine for testing in a plastic or glass container

Sexual Assault Defined

Sexual Assault is criminal conduct that falls well short of the standards America expects of its men and women in uniform and is a violation of our Air Force Core Values.

Sexual Assault is defined as intentional sexual conduct, characterized by use of force, physical threat or abuse of authority or when the victim does not or cannot consent. Sexual assault includes rape, nonconsensual sodomy (oral or anal sex), indecent assault (unwanted, inappropriate sexual contact or fondling), or attempts to commit these acts. Sexual assault can occur without regard to gender or spousal relationship or age of victim. (Article 120 under the UCMJ)

Consent is crucial. Consent is an agreement between participants to engage in sexual activity. Consent should be clearly and freely communicated. Lack of verbal or physical resistance does not constitute consent. Submission resulting from the use of force, threat of force or placing another person in fear does not constitute consent. A current or previous dating relationship does not constitute consent. The manner of dress of the person involved does not constitute consent.
