SOUTHWEST ASIA – I’m Staff Sgt. Bo Gressett, a 386th Expeditionary Force Support Squadron assistant facility manager. I am deployed from the 186th Air Refueling Wing at Meridian, Miss. I joined the Air Force because the military is where I fit in. I love the atmosphere and the attitude that goes along with it.

As an assistant facility manager, I manage a $2 million facility, which requires overseeing 117 Other Country Nationals daily, creating work orders and ensuring all duties throughout the day are accomplished. At my home station, I work offshore in an oilfield, so my civilian job is completely different than my military job.

This deployment is unique because I found out a lot about the guys I drill with back home; I’ve learned a lot of new things that will help me make our drill weekends a more productive training exercise.
The best part of my mission, in my eyes, is connecting with the OCNs. They are very unique individuals and learning their culture and language has made a big impact.

My professional goal is completing my Community College of the Air Force degree while I’m deployed. My personal goal includes losing weight. When I arrived here I wanted to lose about 10 to 15 pounds; as of today, I’ve lost a little more than 56 pounds.

My hobbies are being with my wife and little girl foremost. I also like running and working out in the gym and playing every single sport there is to play. I also love working on my truck back home.
