This week’s Rock Solid Warrior is Tech. Sgt. Kendrick Harris, intelligence and security manager for the 387th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron, deployed from the 78th Security Forces Squadron, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.

The Rock Solid Warrior program is a way to recognize and spotlight the Airmen of the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing for their positive impact and commitment to the mission.

Why did you join the Air Force?

I wanted to optimize my leadership capabilities. I wanted to glean the knowledge that only diversity amongst people can teach. Most importantly I wanted to do my part to help protect the freedoms of our country that are often taken for granted.

How is your deployed unit/job different from your home unit/job?

The culture of Security Forces is consistent throughout the Air Force so the transition into the 387th ESFS was seamless. The only differences between my deployment mission and garrison mission is the tempo of operations and the “players” in the respective theatres.

What are some of your professional and personal goals?

My professional aspiration is to make chief master sergeant by year 17 of my career. My personal aspiration is to finally enter the marriage club and enjoy the fruits of fatherhood that accompany it.

What is your favorite part of your mission here?

My favorite part of the mission here is the information and knowledge I’ve gained along with observing the tangible impact that the U.S. and Coalition Forces are having in our mission sets during Operation Inherent Resolve.

What are some of your hobbies?

A couple of my hobbies that I enjoy are reading philosophy and religious studies and weightlifting.

What are some of the challenges you face here? How do you overcome them?

The only challenge I face here is the inability to see my Grandmother when I want, but the excellent internet service provides the time I’m afforded with the means to communicate back home.
