Chief Master Sergeant JOZEF K. MIKETIN

CMSgt Jozef K. Miketin is the Wing Command Chief for the 148th Fighter Wing, Duluth Air National Guard Base, Minnesota. He serves as the senior enlisted leader and advisor to the commander on all matters impacting the professional development, proper utilization, and the readiness of the enlisted corps. He is the functional manager of the First Sergeant’s Council and is a member of and advises the Chief’s Council.

Chief Miketin began his military career in February 1998 when he enlisted in the Minnesota Army National Guard and attended Basic Military Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. After completing training, he served with the 1st/94th Armor 34ID as a vehicle mechanic. Chief Miketin transferred to the 79th Military Police (MP) Company, Army Reserve and attended technical training for the Military Police. While serving with the 79th MP Company, Chief Miketin was deployed to Iraq and served as a Fire Team Leader where he successfully led and participated in numerous combat missions. As a result of this deployment and his efforts, Chief Miketin received a combat patch, the Combat Action Badge, and the Army Commendation Medal. In September 2006, Chief Miketin enlisted at the 148th Fighter Wing as a Security Forces Specialist at the rank of Staff Sergeant. As a member of the 148th Security Forces Squadron, Chief Miketin served as a Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, Flight Chief, Training Manager, Operations Superintendent, Security Forces Manager, and Chief Enlisted Manager. Most recently in his position, Chief Miketin was tasked as the senior enlisted leader of over 100 Airmen during the 2021 Presidential Inauguration (PI59), Washington D.C. and Operation Safety Net (OSN), Brooklyn Center/St. Paul, Minn.

Chief Miketin is currently employed with the Duluth Police Department as a Lieutenant in the patrol division and Team Leader on the Tactical Response Team. Additionally, Chief Miketin works at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College as a permanent faculty member and Business Program Coordinator.
