Rank/First & Last Name: Senior Airman Daniel Beauchamp

Deployed Unit: 386th Expeditionary Medical Group

Duty Title: NCOIC, Ambulance Services, 386th EMDG Medical Technician/EMT

Home unit/station: Eglin Air Force Base, Fla.

Family's military heritage: Cousin Army medic, Uncle Navy Chaplain.

What is your mission here? My mission is to implement preventative medicine and emergency services to the best forces in the AOR by utilizing assets, personnel and professionalism.

What are some of the best parts of your mission? Getting the opportunity to network with other squadrons, and setting the standard for patient care here at the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing.

What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them? We have the opportunity to practice in the clinical setting as well as emergency scenarios. One minute you can be working in the clinic, and the next you could be responding via ambulance to a trauma situation.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? Here we have many individuals that work in different backgrounds from various bases. We are given a chance to branch out and see things we don't encounter every day.

How many times have you deployed? This is my first deployment and I am more than happy to be here.

What makes this deployment unique? Working hand in hand with the local nationals and fire department is a unique experience in itself. It has been an eye opener to be on a base that is owned by another country.

Why did you join the Air Force? I joined the Air Force to gain military experience. Most successful people seem to have that in common. I wanted to be a part of the world's best air, space, and cyberspace team. So far this has been the best decision I have made, and I plan on making this a career.
