What is your mission here? Vehicle Management

What are some of the best parts of your mission? Having an effect on the entire base mission.

What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them? People's mentality about vehicles as compared to the regulations.
I try to overcome that by educating them that vehicles are equipment/tools based on mission needs, not perks of rank/position.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? It doesn't

How many times have you deployed? 6 deployments and 1 unaccompanied tour to Korea

What makes this deployment unique? No community bathroom. We have one in our room

Why did you join the Air Force? Because I didn't want to continue school after High School and there wasn't a lot of career opportunities in my home town.

Personal Note: Tech Sgt. Auber inherited the vehicle fleet in the midst of many changes. He hit the ground running to learn the local vehicle fleet and soon after, found himself faced with making significant vehicle cuts in leased vehicles within a short period of time. After heading the effort to make the cuts as systematically as possible, he was able to cut 28 lease vehicles, saving the AF $19.5K. He prepared slides and briefed the Gp CC on the progress with right-sizing our vehicle fleet. Gaining the Gp CC's vision on the vehicle fleet, he began engaging each unit to perform an in-house Vehicle Validation Visit. Shortly after realigning priorities to attain the vision, the Wg CC directed a 10% cut to the local General Purpose vehicle fleet, on a very short timeline. Looking adversity in the eye, he accelerated his agenda to comply with the cut, often spending 14-18hr days on the job to meet the quickly approaching suspense. When this effort is wrapped up, he will have reduced the targeted fleet closer to 12%, with 34 assets being deleted. It's easy to see that TSgt Auber is clearly dedicated to the mission, having a significant impact on this wing and has maintained the utmost professionalism in doing so!
