Family's military heritage: My granddad retired as a master sergeant in security forces. He also served in Operation Safe Side in Vietnam.

What is your mission here? To protect all personnel and property assigned to the base.

What are some of the best parts of your mission? Seeing the transportation of incoming and outgoing personnel and equipment to different bases throughout the AOR is one of the best parts of my mission here.

What are some of the challenges you face while conducting your mission, and how do you overcome them? One of the challenges that I face is avoiding complacency. I overcome it by asking questions as well as accepting constructive criticism and applying it.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? The biggest difference between my job here and my job back home is, over here our mission is security compared to back home where it is more of a law enforcement mission.

How many times have you deployed? This is my second deployment.

What makes this deployment unique? What makes this deployment a little more unique than the last is being at a supporting base rather than being at the base that is being supported. Also getting experience working with the Tactical Automated Security System is a new and unique experience for me.

Why did you join the Air Force? I joined the Air Force because, I did not want to go to school right after I graduated. I did not want to waste years of my life either, so I decided to join the military.
