386th EMDG's new commander takes command

SOUTHWEST ASIA --  The 386th Expeditionary Medical Group conducted a change of command ceremony June 3, where Col. Mark Koppen relinquished command to Col. Virginia Garner.

Col. Michael Zick, 386th Air Expeditionary Wing commander, officiated the event.

"Today, we honor one American who played a huge part in leading that team - Col. Mark Koppen - and welcome another great American to our Marauder family who will continue that drive and keen leadership - Col. Virginia Garner," said Zick. "Ginny, you've got some huge green boots to fill, but I know you're more than up to the task."

Garner will be fulfilling a 365-day permanent change of station here, a first for 386th EMDG commanders.
