Name: Tech. Sgt. Carrie Sexton

Deployed Unit: 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Chapel

Duty Title: Chaplain Assistant

Home unit/station: 2d Bomb Wing, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.

How do you support the mission here?
Religious faith and the freedom to worship is more than a First Amendment, it's what I do. Part of my job is to support the First Amendment for freedom of worship. I provide support for all religious activities between various faith groups. I also provide ministry support through administrative functions, logistics and resource management; however, I'd say my favorite part would be supporting and helping people. Finally, but not the least would be providing support for Dignified Transfers of military members' remains out of the AOR.

Favorite movie: Breakfast at Tiffany's

Favorite restaurant: Cheesecake Bistro

Favorite superhero: God

Place you would most like to vacation to or visit: All of Europe

Favorite actor/actress: I don't have one. I don't like to idolize humans because we are all fallible.
Favorite food: Italian

Favorite musical group/musician/singer: I don't have one specifically, but I really enjoy 80's music. My go-to music depends on which mood I'm in.

How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique?
This is my fourth deployment. Every deployment is as unique as the members I deploy with. I have enjoyed all of my deployments for various reasons. As far as this deployment, I would say the positive morale demonstrated by our leadership makes it unique and having free wi-fi doesn't hurt either.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base?
Back at my home base, my job requires I do more administrative duties, such as handling appropriated/non-appropriated funds and supervise contractors as well as other airmen. While deployed, my job requires me to provide Force Protection for chaplains. As a Chaplain Assistant in a deployed environment, I may work in a hospital, morgue, out on convoys, or flying in and out of FOBs wherever the Air Force may need us.
