Home unit/station: 7th Bomb Wing, Dyess Air Force Base, Texas

How do you support the mission here?
The Command post has such a wide array of duties. Not only do we collect information and disseminate it to the commander, higher headquarters and other base agencies, we are also responsible for tracking all aircraft movement, coordinating aircrew and maintenance issues, organizing base emergency response efforts across the wing, and monitor all off base travel.

How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique?
This was my sixth deployment. The unique part about this deployment was the drawdown in Iraq. I was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom shortly after it started ,and now to have a part in the drawdown made it really special.

How does your job differ in a deployed environment versus home base?
My job does not differ too much from home base to a deployed environment. The job and duties are the same for the most part. The biggest difference would be the workload due to all the incoming and outgoing missions.
