Rock Solid Warrior: Senior Amanda Drury Published Dec. 15, 2011 386th Air Expeditionary Wing Public Affairs SOUTHWEST ASIA -- Name: Senior Amanda Drury Deployed Unit: 387th Expeditionary Security Forces Squadron Duty Title: Security Response Team Leader Home unit/station: 802nd Security Forces Squadron, Lackland Air Force Base, Texas How do you support the mission here? I protect the personnel and property that transition and work at an undisclosed location in Southwest Asia; CENTCOM's second busiest APOD. Favorite movie: The 10th Kingdom Favorite restaurant: Fortune Cookie Favorite superhero: Wonder Woman Place you would most like to vacation to or visit: Hawaii Favorite actor/actress: Sandra Bullock Favorite food: Mexican Favorite musical group/musician/singer: Nickleback How many times have you deployed and what makes this deployment unique? I have been deployed twice. This deployment is unique because of the people I have met. That is one thing I enjoy about deploying is meeting new people and learning about where they came from, who they are and how different people truly are. How does your job differ in a deployed environment vs. home base? Being in a deployed location hasn't really changed my job as far as a Security Forces member. I think it really depends on what your mission is and where you are deployed to. I wouldn't say my job here at here is exactly the same as it is at Lackland, but it is very close.
